Nick Furi's Odds & Ends Banner 2013 Final

Film – Regular readers know how much I love The Muppets… So, naturally, I’m extremely excited about the upcoming Muppets Most Wanted film. Given that, you’d think I’d be ecstatic Disney’s giving us 20 minutes worth of behind the scenes footage before the film is even released… Right? Nope! I’ve discovered some of the original songs and star cameos appear in this bonus feature… And I don’t want that much spoilage. Don’t get me wrong: I’m glad fans are getting bonus stuff for free, but can’t anything in Hollywood be secret/spoiler free anymore? [Collider]

Television – After the first amazing photo of the Flash Suit, I thought nothing would be able to stop the momentum of the Scarlet Speedster. Then these onset photos appeared– and they are not flattering in the slightest. This is either a testament to the massive post-production work the CW series will need to make the suit look awesome… Or conversely, we could be witnessing a superhero suit that looks as bad on TV as it does in real life. I’m really hoping for the former. [Screen Crush]

Da Flash

Collectibles – Even though I had very limited experience with the anime/manga Mobile Suit Gundam, I’ve always obsessed over the show’s mecha. And now I can build my own! Barnes & Noble starts selling the Gunpla plastic model in April. There’s no price listed yet, so I’ll have to wait and see if I’m willing to pay heavy international shipping fees to own one. [Tomopop]

Film – The Star Wars Rumor Mill continues to turn, with the list of actors vying for the lead in Episode VII apparently whittled down to five. My favourite of the bunch is Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad). The other contenders are: Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey), John Boyega (Attack the Block), Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher (Fetch Clay, Make Man). I’m extremely happy they are foregoing the old characters for new ones. Reference the previous films at the beginning– allowing fans to understand how the new movies tie in with the Star Wars universe– then move on. [io9]

Television – I thought I was done talking about Gotham, but I guess the PR wags at FOX just can’t help themselves. Having exposed almost everything else, here’s an apparent shot of what the title screen will look like. But wait! There’s also an official synopsis– which basically confirms everything we’ve already assumed about the show. With this relentless vomit of spoilers, I’m already loathing Gotham— and it hasn’t even aired yet. I don’t care about these announcements anymore… Just show me the finished product, so I can make an informed decision. [Comics Alliance]

Comics – If you haven’t heard, Disney is creating comics based on their most popular Disney World attractions– and Jim Zub is the latest creator set to tackle a Disney comic. Figment (the Epcot Theme Park Mascot) does sound like a cool story, but I’m slightly jaded… I want my damn Skullkickers comics back! Having to wait SIX MONTHS for my favourite goofy fantasy story to return is insane. That’s just too long of a break for fans, dammit! [ICv2]

Film – This is Superhero News I actually want to hear: The choice for Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four reboot is down to 4 actors: Domhnall Gleeson, Toby Kebbell, Eddie Redmayne and Sam Riley. I really like the new cast so far… But this choice is crucial to me– as Dr. Doom is one of my favourite Marvel villains. Don’t blow it now! [Superhero Hype]

Television – You know the GIANT LIST of TV Pilots I linked to last week? This is an even better, more organized version of the same thing. It will also be updated with info on which scripts get picked for pilots and which get series orders. [Variety]

Collectibles – Is it just me, or is the face not quite right on this Hot Toys Black Widow figure? Normally I would be gushing over this, as I’m a big fan of Black Widow and I love Scarlett Johansson. (Seriously, she stars in 4 of my most favourite films!) That said, this figure still looks a bit off. Maybe I’m just afraid it’s going to come to life and kick me in the nuts. [Hot Toys]

Film – GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!! In one corner, weighing in with 8 above average to excellent movies, is Marvel Studios. In the other corner stands the wobbly challenger, DC Entertainment— sporting a Batman trilogy that no longer counts, a horrible Green Lantern fiasco and one amazingly terrible Superman movie! On May 6, 2016 get ready for the biggest Geek Movie Fight ever– when Batman vs Superman goes head-to-head in a battle royal against an Unknown Phase 3 Marvel Movie. I already know which one I’ll be pulling for with my hard-earned dollars. In the cinematic world, Marvel seems to win every time. [/Film]

Television – I have a love/hate relationship with The Big Bang Theory. Sometimes I find myself keeling over with nonstop laughter and other times I’m embarrassed I even tuned in for more than 30 seconds. One thing I know: I don’t want to see this series go on for another 3 seasons… Which is exactly how long CBS just renewed the show for. As a one-time fan of CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, I know just how quickly a great show can become stale after it overstays its welcome. [TVLine]

New Defunct (Illegal) Streaming Service – There is was a new Netflix for movie pirates called Popcorn Time… And it allows allowed people to easily access to new movies by torrenting and streaming– using a very simple interface. (Although it looks looked like little more than a new, easier version of the XBMC program to me.) Anyways, this is was just more proof studios need to come up with a better/easier way for the populace to consume their products. But why all the marked out words? After receiving notice from several major news outlets, Popcorn Time was here– and gone– in less than a week.

YouTube – Here’s a video for those of you disappointed the Zack Snyder produced 300 – Rise of an Empire notched the top stop at the box-office opening weekend. It’s everything that’s wrong with Snyder’s first rendition of 300
